Stimulus Package Increases Homebuyer Tax Credit

As part of its plan to stimulate the U.S. housing market and address the economic challenges facing our nation, Congress has passed new legislation that:

Benefits to you include:

  • Extends the First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit of up to $8,000 to first-time home buyers until April 30, 2010. (Closing must occur by June 30th, 2010)
  • Expands the credit to grant up to $6,500 credit to current home owners purchasing a new or existing home before April 30, 2010. (Closing must occur by June 30th, 2010)
  • Tax credit does not need to be paid back
  • Historically low mortgage rates paired with the tax credit make this a great time to buy a home

Learn how you can save on your new or existing home with the new homebuyer tax credit. A PRG Home Sales representative will contact you to answer all your questions!
